TACOS
An evening of Mexican inspired fire cooking with
chef Carlos from BASEMENT 17.
This month we will be exploring the flavours of Mexico.
Basement 17 was forged in a tiny basement flat in Bristol during the covid pandemic. It started with tacos for the neighbours every Wednesday and has since evolved into a catering company with fire at its core.
Carlos and Emily both share a passion for delivering the highest service and food. Carlos, originally from Mexico, draws on his childhood memories and love of Mexican flavours and combines this with local, seasonal produce from the South West to produce mouth-watering feasts. Carlos has worked in and run both Mexican and Mediterranean kitchens for many years and Emily has worked in management positions in pubs and cafes. What started with the spark of an idea one night has rapidly developed into the catering enterprise that we are today.
We will kick off the evening with a complimentary cocktail and Alex will be tinkering away in the forge if anyone wants to wandering in and see what he is up to. Carlos will then be talking about all things Mexican food, doing a quick master class in the art to making Tacos and cooking up a feast over the coals in the outdoor
This is a social event , not a sit down dinner , where our guests can get involved with the prep and cooking over fire, ask questions and learn more about the craft of blacksmithing , the food world and different cooking techniques and styles.
