Over the course of the weekend students will learn how to forge a variety of blades using different carbon steels.
DAY 1 – Forging high carbon steels (EN9 and EN42J) to make foraging and small skinning knives.
DAY 2 – Further forging practice. All pieces will then be hardened, tempered and ground to a sharp edge.
Please note – we do not fit wooden handles on this course.
No previous experience is needed for this course.
The course is fully catered (lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday) by a local cook, providing exceptionally tasty meals from locally sourced produce. There is also free camping in the orchard adjacent to the forge and space for campers or caravans.
