BLACKSMITHING FOR BEGINNERS (1 day course)

You will cover basic metallurgy, work steel at different temperatures and will learn how to judge the heat of the metal by its colour. Also work on an anvil and swage block, learn tapering, scrolling and twisting.

This is an extremely enjoyable but physical day working in the forge. We will set projects which will enable you to learn all the basic techniques and at the end of the day you will take home all your forged metalwork.

There are only six places on each course making this an intense day but allowing you to progress at your own pace.
